Recently eight of Turtle Lake's Organized Hamlets (OH) met with the RM of Mervin's Council.(Rhonda Bartlett was the SSVB Representative)
At the conclusion of the meeting it was agreed that:
Improved communications was essential to improve the current relationships
It was suggested that two annual meetings be held exclusively between the OHs and the RM.
It was proposed that a 6 person committee be struck (3 OH members and 3 RM) to review the Municipal Tax Allocation percentage calculation and establish a baseline for going forward
It was agreed that the other Organized Hamlets within the RM of Mervin not present be approached and brought up to speed
Additional discussions between OH Members felt it critical that the OH Board Members meet ASAP to establish connections, review the above items, and gather any additional questions or points to be brought forward to the RM.
